Thank you ,Adam, as always. Your own budget review ! Where will the money that is "saved" in tonight's budget go ? Not to the poor boomers who you describe so well.

Thanks Stephen. I suspect you're absolutely correct on that one. Nor will it go to the millions of 'carers' outside the system - daughters, sons, sisters, friends. But we mustn't give up hope!

Bravo Adam. This is an excellent and necessary piece. What matters here is the reminder that “Boomer” covers nearly two decades of people, from 1946 to 1964, whose lives were shaped by very different histories, opportunities, losses, geographies, and degrees of security. Treating that cohort as if it has one shared bank balance, one political interest, and one moral responsibility flattens the inequalities we need to understand.

I also think this framing risks making older people responsible for systems many did not design and many have not benefited from. The real question is not which generation to blame, but why we keep allowing political and economic systems to divide people who are often being failed in different ways by the same structures.

My humble opinion: because people addicted to power, want it that way. They set us in opposition. They tell us (as they hoard), "Look over there... look at that woman who is different to you. She has, which means you don't!" And we fall for it. Every. Single. Time.

Agreed with your take. And there is a certain amount of grandstanding when statements are made that pitch one group against another whether this is loud or quiet.

Great shout out Adam. Very frustrating to so constantly see 'boomers' blamed for the economic woes of the world. So much is hidden in the statistics, and it is too easy to just blame 'them' rather than focus on the problems adn how to solve them - together.

Here here! So much value is created when young and old, people from different backgrounds, and people who wouldn't normally find themselves in the same rooms, come together.
